Course Description
This course will investigate scientific concepts relating to the biology of domestic animals (horse’s, cattle, sheep, poultry and swine). Specific topics will include taxonomy and classification, cell structure and function, biological systems, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, genetics, reproduction, distribution and adaptation, selection and evaluation. Laboratory activities will provide opportunities for problem solving through piratical application to learn scientific concepts. Application to current issues will be explored. Leadership and Career Development opportunities for students through the FFA (an intra-curricular student group) will be presented.
